FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HELP YOUR DAUGHTER EXPERIENCE PPP POWER!

ATL., November 14, 2007 – Dr. Gail Hayes, founder of The Precious! Pretty! Powerful! Girls Book Club helps young girls gain a sense of identity and purpose before the peer pressure sets in and begins to control them. “I believe that we need to reach girls before the cutting, self-destructive behavior and drug use starts,” says Dr. Hayes. “Many of the programs available today target older girls. We want to reach girls while they are still young so that when the peer pressure intensifies, they will have a foundation of self-confidence. The Precious! Pretty! Powerful! Girls Book Club (PPPGBC) longs to do just that.”

One of Dr. Hayes’ main goals is to help girls grasp the power of identity before they reach middle and high school. PPPGBC was formed to help girls learn how to handle conflict and to develop a healthy self-image through reading, writing, speaking, and character education. Children need to know that they too, are important and they too, can make a positive impact on their communities.

To accompany the PPPGBC, Dr. Hayes has written four powerful journal/books for young girls to help guide them along the way each day.

Dr. Gail Hayes is a member of the University of North Carolina’s Public Education Television (UNC-TV) Literacy Advisory Board, the Advanced Writers and Speakers Network (AWSA), an advisory board member of Right to the Heart Ministries, the Christian Authors Network (CAN), the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the International Speakers Network (ISN). She holds a BS in Criminal Justice, an MA in Public Relations, and a Ph.D. in Counseling. She and her family live in Durham, NC.
