FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Become All You Are Meant to Be in Christ--
Author Howard Katz shows us how in his newest book,
Seven Essential Relationships: How to Pass God's Crucial Tests
ATLANTA
(July 8, 2008) - As Christians we are all called to walk toward
spiritual maturity. And just as our earthly relationships with family
and friends grow and mature with each interaction, so should our
relationship with our Heavenly Father. We are called, as believers, to
grow into all that God has intended for us to be.
Though the author of Seven Essential Relationships
is not African American, the response of black pastors to this book has
been so strong that the publishers decided to do all they could to make
it known to the whole Christian church in America. It will bless each
pastor and each church member who reads it and will help all readers
learn how to pass each of God's crucial tests so they can move on to an
entirely new spiritual level in their lives.
Author Howard Katz uses candid examples from his own life, as well as
from the life of Joseph, in presenting to us the seven main
relationships each believer will be tested in throughout their
Christian walk and how to rise to the challenge of meeting these tests.
The relationships include the following:
- our relationship with God’s Word
- our relationship with the World
- our relationship with Authority
- our relationship with God’s Plan for our Lives
- our relationship with the Way in which God deals with us
- our personal relationship with God Himself
- our relationship with God's Glory
Katz outlines for us not only the seven relationships but he gives us
their corresponding crucial tests which he believes every believer must
pass in order to progress spiritually. He offers fresh insight
into how afflictions can and should shape one's character.
As a continuing theme throughout the book, each relationship is
prefaced by a description of how an ancient Israeli potter would mold a
clay vessel. Just as each of the seven steps in the molding of a clay
vessel, which mirrors one of the seven relationships, ends in a
beautiful vessel, likewise the molding of the relationship between the
Master Potter and the believer is transformed more and more into the
likeness of his Creator, the Master Potter. The catch is to pass each
test and Katz shows you how to do that.
Here’s what others are saying about Seven Essential Relationships:
"No matter how messy your life is, God wants to make something
beautiful out of it. Reading this insightful book, you won't be
content to just coast along in your faith. Every chapter challenges you
to move closer to the Master Potter and invite Him to touch your life
in new and deeper ways. Just like clay, you'll emerge from the
process changed, and your new shape will be a perfect fit for
God’s great plans for you."
—Whitney Von Lake Hopler

"Howard Katz asks us this important question: 'Why are all believers not experiencing victory?' As
you study and apply the seven truths this book illuminates, you will
find you are able to walk in the victory God desires for you. Read it
carefully and you will be blessed."
—Stan Telchin, Author
Betrayed and Abandoned
"Howard Katz didn't write this book like he was cramming
for final exams. This is the result of decades of learning intimacy
with God at a depth few know about these days. From the life of Joseph,
Howard Katz reminds us that there are no shortcuts to really knowing
God. Most of it is learned in the school of hard knocks. Howard Katz
brilliantly interweaves the vivid metaphor of the potter and the
clay—an image that will make this book stick in your brain ten
years from now. This is one of those books you shouldn't rush
through. And it's one of those rare books you’ll find
yourself picking up and reading again as a reference, especially when
you go through one of those Joseph experiences. This book cuts like a
scalpel. But thankfully, Howard Katz provides an anesthetic of humor
throughout, while he presses ahead with open-heart surgery. I've
known Howard Katz for two decades. He walks the talk. As a businessman
and pastor he lives in the real world. In this important book Howard
Katz cuts to the chase and gives us the real deal."
