FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Deborah Slappey Pitts, 2008 Infini Literary Award Winner, Writes Sequel to her Bestselling Book, I Feel Okay, titled, Shadow Living...Paintings of Grief
Atl., May 5, 2008 – How
does one keep on living after losing a spouse to a strange disease?
Deborah Slappey Pitts lost her husband to primary amyloidosis, a rare
immune system disease. Through her heart-wrenching, but compelling book, Shadow Living...Paintings of Grief, Pitts lets us into her personal world—a world of grief, torment, and loneliness after the death of her husband.
Pitts outlines for us the stages of the grieving process and allows us
to travel with her through each stage and the bouts of pain,
depression, and anguish she experienced. Her life almost completely
fell apart, but by placing her faith, trust, and confidence in God, He
became her “refuge and strength, a very present help in
trouble.”
Pitts emerged from the shadows of grief to begin living life once again
to its fullest. She is now a source of inspiration to others, as she
helps many to realize that the death of a loved one does not mean life
ends for you. Along with sharing her personal story of grief, and the
grieving process, Pitts also provides us with an amyloidosis update.
Here is what others have to say about Shadow Living…Paintings of Grief:
